I'm a fellow user.
What version of Moneydance are you using?
Which tool are you using to try and update the prices. The Quotes and Exchange rate Extension or the Ouote Loader? In either case what version.
To answer your question at a high level you usually would just select the right Stock Exchange from the list. The extension selects the appropriate exchange as the suffix that is required is dependent on the source that is being used.

I am not support staff, just a user.
There are two methods within Moneydance for obtaining security prices automatically.
The extension “Quote and exchange rate updater. For exchange rates use the source European Central Bank. If your securities are in the US try IEX Trading first, if that does not support a security try Alpha Vantage. Alpha Vantage also cover some securities outside the US, but is very, very slow.
If the Quote and exchange rate updater does not work well for you try the free third-party Quote Loader. One of the sources in the Quote Loader is FT so is ideal for UK investors. The PDF explains how to find the correct ticker symbol.

For 2019 see post 27 at http://help.infinitekind.com/discussions/investments/4039-quote-loa...
It has far wider coverage and is fast.
Download the PDF attached to these posts and have a read. To get an overview take a look at the YouTube video by using the link in the PDF.

Hope this helps.
