I'm enquiring whether Moneydance can track foreign investments in Can $$. I use Quicken right now and it cannot convert my US investments. The quotes I receive are in US $$ and it shows market value in US $$. I would like to see my market value in Can $$. my program currently shows the stocks as having a loss because their cost is in Can $$. Does your program do the same thing as Quicken or will it convert to other currencies?

    Moneydance can track foreign investments.
There is a free third-party Quote Loader that will obtain Quotes and save them to Moneydance in the currency you have set the security to.
Example your base currency is the Canadian Dollar. You have a number of securities traded in US Doller. In moneydance you set these up as US Dollar securities. The Quote Loader will obtain these securities in US Dollars and use the CAD/USD exchange rate to convert to Canadian Dollars before importing into Moneydance.
See the attached example. The price for Apple is obtained in USD and listed under Trade Currency as USD (186.53). The exchange rate CAD/USD is also obtained. Quote Loader detect you have set up Apple as a security having a currency of CAD in Moneydance, so it uses the exchange rate to convert to CAD as seen under New Price (248.7807) and that is the price imported into Moneydance. Had Apple been set up as a USD security in Moneydance it would have been imported as a USD value. In Moneydance for the purposes of reports etc Moneydance would have converted to CAD.

    Try thing out for yourself.
    Download from https://infinitekind.com/preview
Downloaded version of Moneydance is a full working version with the only limit being a maximum of 100 manually entered transactions, with no time limit. Imported files from other financial programs and your bank have no limit on imports. If you decided to purchase you are sent a key by email that unlocks the 100-manual transaction limit. If after testing with this free trial version you purchase and change your mind see the 90 day money back guaranty at https://infinitekind.com/refunds
For the future Moneydance never sunsets the version it releases. So, you don’t have to upgrade. If you won’t to upgrade the next version is free (say 2017 to 2019) and from then on you get a 50% discount. All upgrades within a version are free.

If you need further information just post.

    Hope this helps

That was what I wanted to know. My retirement fund is all stocks now and
Quicken couldn't correctly track my investment value. I have downloaded
the trial version on my Mac already, so I just have set up my stocks.
    Thanks for your help.
