Is there a way to save all the investment history while removing a former security from that investment?

I have had an investment account for almost 20 years. Over those years, either by choice or necessity, some securities have been sold and others bought. In the process I now have some "closed" securities listed in my investment portfolio along with the current active securities. I would like to remove the securities from that particular investment, but will that also remove the related history of purchases & sales? I'm reluctant to remove any old securities without the assurance that the related transaction history will remain in the investment account.

Thank you for your help.

I am not support staff, just a user.

As far as I know there is no way to safely remove securities you no longer have share in.
You cant even make them inactive to remove them from dropdowns as you can with accounts.
