Unrealised capital gains
I am running the total capital gains report and focusing on unrealised. I have an unusual total which I can trace to 5 holdings which correctly show the number of shares and value but zero as the cost basis. If I go to the investment account and look at the portfolio report or security detail I see the correct cost basis. Is this an issue??

I'm a fellow user.
The report is not working correctly. This issue was raised some time ago but nothing seems to have been done about it.
Support: This issue should have been flagged for attention some time ago. See:

Thanks to dwg I got a pointer to check LOTS vs Average cost - sure enough all problematic securities were set to Average - once changed to LOTS the reports came out accurately! Thanks to dwg

Thanks - your pointers solved my problem - the securities in question were set to average cost. Changing to lots generated an accurate report.

The report should work no matter what costing method is used. In some Countries you need to use a specific costing method so changing it in the software to something that works in Moneydance is not a solution.
