Moving investments smoothly between investment companies

USAA recently transitioned their investment services to Schwab so all of our IRAs and brokerage accounts with USAAs are gone and replaced by the Schwab ones. Some of these have stocks that have split multiple times since purchase 20 years ago, or have dividends, etc. What are the specific steps to easily move a whole IRA or brokerage account in Moneydance from one with 20 years of information to a new one? I've seen a hint about selling and then buying at the original price, but that is too little explanation. Please provide a step-by-step way to do this and a means to chat/talk to someone if we are still confused. We have used Moneydance for a long time and want to continue to.

It has been two weeks, still hoping for some help. Been using Moneydance for 11 years.

    Hi Marc,

This is actually quite easy since your intention is to move the entire bulk of the USAA investments to Schwab.

Simply change all of the particulars of the USAA account to those of Schwab in the account's properties form.

You could make an annotation in the 'Comments' section as to the date of the transfer.
