I'm a Fidelity Investments client and as you describe, they only allow for manual downloads in CSV format.

I have toyed around with CSV to QIF converters (xl2qif) using Fidelity's CSV files but it is not an easy conversion and I quickly dropped the idea.

It is my understanding that CSV files can not be imported into Moneydance investment accounts because investment transactions are split between the security and the category. CSV files apparently are not conducive to performing split transactions.

Have you checked to see if your brokerage is one that can utilize Moneydance's direct-connect feature?

This is one of the larger discount brokers in Canada...

After talking to their tech support he said he would make a note on my file ( ? ) what that is supposed to do I am not sure.

Is there anything else I can do to move the process along? They do have qif file downloads for holdings, but I want to download account activity.

Does anyone else have experience getting their broker to move past csv files and into qif files?

Darrentag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/485866912020-09-09T01:50:35Z2020-09-09T01:50:35Zimporting account activity csv into an investment account register

I'm a fellow user.

Have a look at the data in the QIF file. These files are quite capable of holding investment transactions. QIF files are not design to have the total holding they are intended to contain information on individual transactions.

dwg
