I bought Moneydance over a year ago mainly to replace MS Money and to help me manage and track my investments.
I tried to setup for investments several times but had given up and decided it was a bad buy, too complicated to use.
I can't find another piece of software for the Mac that tracks investments, so I have decided to have another go, but I need help, can someone please show me how to setup say for example, BT shares, and track their prices automatically? (I'm in the UK)

Have you looked at Chapter 7 of the users guide?

    1. Basically set up an investment account,
    2. create securities and add these to the investment account
    3. Enter various buy transactions.
    4. Go into extensions and add the Quotes and Exchange rates extension to MD, this is what gets the updated prices.

That is a very high level summary but hopefully that along with the manual will get you started.
