I'm a fellow user.
An investment transaction i.e. Buy, Sell, Div etc will not show in the bank register because this register does not understand such transactions.
The bank register is present to allow you to enter bank type transactions that the Investment register does not have the capability to enter. The balance this register shows is just the balance of the type of items it can show not the overall account position, personally I think it would be preferable if this register did not show a balance in Investment accounts.
The Investment register however will show all the transactions, even if it does not show all details.

HI DWG
Thanks for that, it makes some sense. Just have to remember that when looking at the bank register.
