I'm thinking this is probably because I did an update during the day yesterday, and today it doesn't want to update a previous days value it already has.

(I do have it set to retrieve missed prices. But I do also want it to overwrite interim price and volumes previously retrieved with their final values at the end of the day.)

Christag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/488690252020-12-01T12:45:37Z2020-12-01T12:45:37ZEdited: Does Quotes Loader update a particular days data after the first time it gets it?

I am not support staff, just a user.
Hi Chris

I am not sure how the Quotes and Exchange rates extension works regarding storing the latest price returned if you run several times in a trading day.

However, I can tell you that the Extension Quote Loader does overwrite the Current and Dated Price each time you run it and save the prices during a trading day.

The extension Quote Loader under EXTENSIONS – MANAGE EXTENSION

Have edited my title to correct.

It's data loaded by quote loader that contains interim data for yesterday.

Christag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/488690252020-12-01T13:17:50Z2020-12-01T13:17:50ZEdited: Does Quotes Loader update a particular days data after the first time it gets it?

I am not support staff, just a user.
Hi Chris

Post the ticker symbol and I will test. What source have you set FT, FT HD, Yahoo or Yahoo HD?

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/488690252020-12-01T13:32:47Z2020-12-01T13:32:47ZEdited: Does Quotes Loader update a particular days data after the first time it gets it?

The ticker is AEWU, exchange LSE, source Yahoo HD.

I checked the two securities that I get from FT HD, and no volume is being downloaded at all over the last several days, even though it does appear on the FT web pages. But that's a separate problem I'll worry about later.

Christag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/488690252020-12-01T13:35:10Z2020-12-01T13:35:10ZEdited: Does Quotes Loader update a particular days data after the first time it gets it?

I've checked a few other securities from Yahoo HD and it looks like I have a similar issue with all of them.

Christag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/488690252020-12-01T16:25:59Z2020-12-01T16:25:59ZEdited: Does Quotes Loader update a particular days data after the first time it gets it?

I am not support staff, just a user.
Hi Chris

Clicked Get Prices and Saved Selected Values, see first screen shot of Security History window. Went away and sometime later click Get Prices again. As you can see from the second screen shot the price from Yahoo has updated. Clicked Saved Selected Values and as you can see from third screen shot Security History window Current and Dated prices have updated. So, this aspect seems to be working.

Neither FT nor Yahoo update their prices moment to moment. Never tested to find out what the update interval is. Moneydance nor Quote Loader are meant to track intraday changes.

The Quote Loader program deliberately prevent you from hammering the get prices and flooding the source with requests.

Agree there looks like an issue with FT HD obtaining Volume on your ticker. Must confess its not a feature I use and most Securities found by FT HD are not the type of securities that quote volumes. But will ask Mike for his comments.

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/488690252020-12-01T17:14:13Z2020-12-01T17:14:13ZEdited: Does Quotes Loader update a particular days data after the first time it gets it?

I agree it will update/replace todays figures if you manually re-run it and save. I don't really care about that though, I want it to automatically replace a previous days figures if they were not closing ones. It appears not even running it manually will fix yesterday's figures.

I will use the Security History loader which I have set up to always load the most recent 90 days history, with overwrite, so that should correct any non-closing prices that quote loader has given me since I started using it. (Will also fix the missing volumes.)

Christag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/488690252020-12-01T20:16:27Z2020-12-01T20:16:27ZEdited: Does Quotes Loader update a particular days data after the first time it gets it?

I am not support staff, just a user.
Hopefully stopping it ever running during the trading day will get around the problem.

Chris
