Updating security prices
I have an old version of Moneydance 2012.5 (862). Previously I was able to update stock prices automatically via an Extension using Yahoo data. I have not done this for some time and my investments have now changed substantially. Should I still be able to update automatically. I have tried to set this up, but the Help article refers to Alphavantage.co.uk which does not seem to be available to me on my extension. Should I be able to download stock prices automatically and if so how do I set it up, or is the problem that this is no longer supported on my version of Moneydance?

Hi Kirk
Yes things have moved on and your old version of MD is not supported by
the latest versions of the two solutions for this (Quotes and Exchange
Updater and Quote Loader.
However there is an old version of Quote Loader that might do the
trick, Go to https://bitbucket.org/mikerb/moneydance-2015/downloads/
and download the file qlinstaller.mxt.
Start MD and make a backup of your file.
Go to Extensions/Manage Extensions.
Click on the button 'Add from file' and select the file you have just
downloaded.
You will be warned about an unsigned extension but it is OK.
If this installs try restarting MD and then running Quote Loader
Installer. If it runs you should be presented with a screen that takes
you through the install process. It is possible that your version of MD
is too old, but we shall see.
If you are successful in installing it, restart MD and run it. There is
a PDF on how to use the extension
(Quote_Loader_System_by_Mike_Bray_and_hleofxquotesV64.pdf) that explains
how to use it.
Good luck

Mike,
Many thanks for your clear and comprehensive reply - much appreciated. I am very grateful for your suggestion, but think I might as well upgrade to the latest version now. Once again thanks for your help. Happy New Year to you.
Kirk
