Lot Matching
Hi, I need some help - I have sold all of my BT shares, but when it came to lot matching things didn't match up.
I concluded that I hadn't done this right in the past and decided to 'cancel' thinking I'd come back to it and sort it out later.
I didn't take a screenshot before I 'cancelled' and now wish I had as I'm now struggling to get back to the lot matching? Any help would be appreciated. Also any tips on how to sort out a historical mess that I have created in the past?
Many Thanks
Ray

Go to the investment account.
Click securities (top right)
Select the security in the little drop down (top right ish)
Click edit LOTS (might be lot history)
You should be able to change there.
Let us know?

I just sold some shares but when I go to the security, "edit lots" is greyed out.
Maybe I'm missing something.

You most likely have the security set to use Average Cost.

Well, admittedly this is the first time I've sold this security since I moved to moneydance, so I assume Average Cost is the default.
How do I change it? (I went to edit security - no love)

On the security detail screen use the edit security button, the setting is a radio button on that screen.
Yes Average Cost is the default. It is a suitable setting for funds but for shares, depending on where you are in the world, it may not be.

I know the window that you re showing all I can say is that I'm currently on Linux system, yes I regularly use different machines, and all I can say is from the security details screen I end up with a dialog shown below

Me too. It looks like you’re trying to edit the security from the tools/security screen and not the investment account security screen?

Ok, so how do i get to your window vs my window? I showed my path.
Show me yours.

Look at my underlying screen image, I have the investment account open, I select the Security Detail screen, make sure the security I want is selected, then click on the Edit Security button from the group of six buttons underneath the summary information.

Ok, i get-it. Still not intuitive, given it is a parameter.
I set it correctly, then cannot enter any values, everything is non enterable or matchable. So, still no win.

Also two pertinent items
I get A "not match" in all situations.
Also, I can't get rid of the window. It keeps popping up even after multiple cancels.''
yes ultimately i can get rid of the window, but others might not. cancel does not work.

You have allocated the incorrect amount of shares
is the standard response.

Keeps popping up means that not all shares are properly matched….
