Incorrect security prices in Portfolio View

I'm using Moneydance to track several investment accounts. One of the investment accounts is not showing the correct investment prices in the portfolio view and therefore the value of that account is incorrect.

The 2 investments in the problem account are part of a TSA and neither investment updates automatically when running the Quotes and Exchange Rates extension. The last investment price shown in the portfolio view is from 5/5/20 when shares were sold to cover management fees.

When I go to the Securities Detail screen for that account and click on History, I find 8 more recent security prices...one from each monthly update that I add manually from the monthly investment report we receiver from our financial advisor.

Why are the manually entered monthly values for that account not being reflected in the Portfolio View and how to do I correct that.

To get the current value Moneydance does not use the latest price in the hitory list, rather it uses the price that is set for the current price.

Depending on the method you use to set prices some do update the current price others do not and you have to do it manually.

If you need to enter prices by hand I would suggest you use the Security Price Entry extension which can be set to update the current pricea s well as the history table.

    Thanks, dwg.

Tried just resetting the current price but could not find a place to do that. I added the Security Price Entry (SPE) extension and updated the prices and that fixed the problem.

When I open the SPE, it get a list of every security/CD/etc I've ever owned. I could not find a way to trim the list down to what I actually own today. Do you know how to do that?

I'm afraid it is not possible. Moneydance does not have the ability to mark Securities as inactive, it is something that has been requested.

About the only way of making the list a little more manageble is to rename inactive securities - for example adding the letter z to the front of their name to group them all together at the end of the list.

Thanks again. I'll try your suggestion the next time I update prices.
