I would suggest you initially take a look at the Asset allocation graph.

On the parameter screen change the selection to only use the account you want then run the graph, it should give a labelled pie chart with the percentage as part of the label.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/498541422022-01-31T21:51:45Z2023-05-16T21:11:53ZInvestment Portfolio Graphs

Thanks dwg. The pie chart will show %cash vs % stocks, it doesn't breakdown the percentages for each stock held (ie; 10% BCE, 25% Hyrdo, etc...

jamestag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/498541422022-02-01T01:21:22Z2022-02-01T01:21:22ZInvestment Portfolio Graphs

The Asset Allocation report looks like it may be more suitable, doing a quick test it is shows each security with a percentage in its segment but also a percentage of the total value of the account.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/498541422022-02-05T15:19:45Z2023-05-16T21:11:53ZInvestment Portfolio Graphs

Not exactly.....take a look at the screen capture I just uploaded. Hi James

You could try an Asset Allocation Graph such as the screen shot from Moneydance attached.

Problem, is I have several stocks held in a single account (ie RRSP) and when I generate the Asset Allocation Graph mine only shows the total percentage of money held in stock and cash, not the details of which stock and what percentage. How did you generate your view?

jamestag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/498541422022-02-06T15:09:22Z2022-02-06T15:09:22ZInvestment Portfolio Graphs

I am not support staff, just a user.
Hi James

I assign a Security Type and Subtype to each Type of Security.
If in an Investment Account Security Detail window you use the dropdown to selected a security you can assign a Type and Sub-Type in the window that opens when to click EDIT SECURITY. You first assign one of the fixed Types using the Type Dropdown, then assign a Subtype by using the Subtype dropdown. Use EDIT to add new Subtypes to the list. The Type and Subtype can be set differently for the same Security in different Investment Accounts if required.

Hope this helps.

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/498541422022-02-06T16:06:20Z2023-05-16T21:11:53ZInvestment Portfolio Graphs

Derek you're a genius!!!! Hi James

Glad I was able to help.

Have Fun, Stay Safe.

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/498541422022-02-07T00:05:53Z2022-02-07T00:05:53ZInvestment Portfolio Graphs

That method appears to be more of an allocation by security rather than asset allocation. I have blended funds that include both stocks and bonds. How can a balanced mutual fund be split so the graph properly shows the portion of my portfolio that is allocated to stocks, bonds and cash? If I have several mutual funds that include stocks and bonds, I want a graph that shows the % of my portfolio allocated to stocks and the % to bonds as opposed to % by security.

Rick Y.tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/498541422022-02-07T09:57:53Z2022-02-07T09:57:53ZInvestment Portfolio Graphs

I am not support staff, just a user.
Hi Rick

If I am reading you correctly Moneydance would have no way of determining the % allocation of Stocks or Bonds or Cash contained within individual Funds.

It's unfortunate this functionality is not available. Allocation by asset class would be extremely useful for portfolio management, planning and rebalancing. I would think this would be a priority for those who manage their own finances. I do use Excel to graph and review my asset allocation, but would prefer that it is built into my software rather than keep a separate workbook.

Rick Y.
