Anyway, method 1:
- Install / run extension extract data. option Investment Transactions

tick / untick hide/unhide hidden xxx (depending on your data)
Currency ALL
Security / Ticker - specific your security
Filter account - ALL or specific
Tick filter txn date range and select all dates, then change the end date
tick include opening balance
tick adjust for splits
tick omit lot data
untick extract attachments
tick BOM
untick write parameters to file..

RUN... Open CSV in Excel..
- select all, auto filter - Highlight shares column, and you will see the total... (or dump the selection into a pivot, sort by account etc)

Method2 - I update the SG2020 option with a balance date option.. But not sure how useful this is...

Method 1 takes seconds..

Thoughts? If you need help, shout.....

Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/572304622022-12-20T13:46:04Z2022-12-20T13:46:04ZShares Owned as of Certain Date

.

Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/572304622022-12-22T12:31:06Z2022-12-22T12:31:06ZShares Owned as of Certain Date

Stuart-

Thanks! I'm going to try your solution. However, seems like quite a bit of steps/work. I'm looking for the number of shares owned in a single account so I can track down which transaction created a small error in the number of shares owned. (It's easy for me to remember to reconcile the dollar amount, but I forget to reconcile the number of shares!).

I also thought about copying later transactions into a dummy account, deleting them in the primary account so I can see the number of shares owned at the end of my statement, finding and correcting the error, then copying back in the transactions.

Does anyone have any other ideas? Might this be a feature request for someday?

jptag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/572304622022-12-22T13:31:25Z2022-12-22T13:31:25ZShares Owned as of Certain Date

(my extract solution will take you about 60 seconds to do....)

Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/572304622022-12-22T16:13:03Z2022-12-22T16:13:03ZShares Owned as of Certain Date

So... If it's just one account then it's easy!! Run the Portfolio report. Set the asof date. Tick include security balances, select the investment account!!

OK?

Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/572304622022-12-25T01:25:04Z2022-12-25T01:25:04ZShares Owned as of Certain Date

Totally solved my problem! Thanks!
