Short Positions show Nonsense Values
The Cost Basis and Percentage change are always some irrational values.
2000 shares short @ 3.41 price is 3.481 m Cost basis says 25.385.48 and % Change is -127.42 :-)

Tom.
Version 2014.5 (980)
OS X Yosemite
10.10.3
Screen shots attached.
The -100.72 and 2,881,828.95 values are nonsense.

Ted

Ted
I am not able to replicate the issue. I don't know why the cost basis is so exaggerated, which causes the % change error.
Would it be possible to see a screen shot of the Securities detail window for this security. And the cost basis report edited for this security only.

Tom,
I did a test with a new security GE 200 short at 28.80 and did not see any issue, I created a dummy order for TSLA on Saturday and see the issue.
I than added BRK-A shorted one share at 240000 on 4/26 and it never changes cost basis or anything. I edited it ti be a trade on 4/20 and nothing changes.
This screen is attached as well.
Note I am running the newer version now as well.
(2015.3) 1175

Tom,
I am hitting the match lots issue, what a PITA. Going to try the preview version.
"Hi Kc8apf,
Can you try upgrading to latest preview release of Moneydance from here:
http://infinitekind.com/preview <https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/discussions/problems/15414/r?go=aHR0cDovL2luZmluaXRla2luZC5jb20vcHJldmlldw==>
and see if that fixes the issue that you're seeing?

Tom,
It looks like it grabs info from old entries and this than screws up the calculation. If I start with a stock I have no history with it is fine.
It seem to be grabbing data that is not relevant to the current positions, and the lots matching mess makes it worse.
For now I will just manage open positions and delete all closed trades. When you guys find a fix for this and for the close
the match lots pop up let me know.
Regards,
Ted

Ted
There is a bug in the cost basis that we are working on.
On the lot match issue, please check your version of Moneydance. There have been a number of tweaks to the lot match function in build 1204 which you can download here: http://infinitekind.com/preview
