Where to add stock securities to an account on Mac version?
Im in the trial currently and already pretty lost.
"If you have already created your security, you can associate it with a particular investment account by opening the Securities Detail view and clicking on the “Add Security” button.
Select the appropriate security and fill out the rest of the security information identifying it as a stock, bond, CD, option contract, etc., and the particular information unique to that type of security."
Where is the Securities Detail view and Add Security button?

Hi Ryan,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.
After creating your Investment Account as outlined in this article, you can add your securities.
When you click the "Add Security" button, you are offered a list of securities to add to that investment account, or the option to create a new security.
The securities shown in the popup list are those that appear in your data file, but aren't yet associated with that specific investment account.
Adding a security to an investment account simply makes that security available for use within that investment account. Technically adding a security to an investment account creates a sub account in the investment account priced in that security as a place to hold the number of shares in the security you own.
After you add a security to an investment account you need to enter a buy transaction to increase the number of shares you own. Go into the investment register and click the new transaction button. Set the type of the transaction to Buy.
This will reduce the amount of cash in the investment account to pay for the buy. If you are simply wanting to reflect preexisting holdings you can set the initial cash balance of the investment account to cover these buys. To do this go into the investment account and select Edit Account from the Account menu.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

Your Investment account, should be listed in the left side bar.
Looking at your screenshot it seems you have not created an investment account correctly.
Investment Accounts can be created by selecting Account --> New Account. Then select the 'Investment' type, and enter the account details.
The Investment Account Registers are displayed as shown here.
The Register tab in Investment account shows all the transactions but this register view does not have the ability to enter many of the banking type transactions, so they are generally shown as xfr types of transactions.
The banking register is specifically for the entry of transactions that the investment register cannot handle. It can do splits, foreign currencies etc but it does not understand investment actions. This register view is effectively a subset view of the transactions, so it does not show all transactions only those it understands.
Hopefully this clarifies the difference!
