Quotes and Exchange Rates stopped working
The Quote and Exchange Rates Updater v1033 stopped working about 2 weeks ago. It is no longer able to get security prices from Yahoo Finance. This extension has broken before and subsequently fixed with the updater v1033 but now it failed again. So can you please fix it and provide a new updater for users? Some users have suggested using Quote Loader but I'd like the Quote and Exchange Rates fixed please. Thank you.

I'm a fellow user.
I just tested Q & ER V1033 on Moneydance 2023.2 ( Build 5007) and it worked as expected.
I do not see anything to suggest that the extension is "broken" and needs an update.

Just to add, if there was a general problem with Q & ER I would expect there to be many posts in the forum about it, yours is the only one, that suggests that the problem is specific to your system and set up.
I would suggest you post a screen shot of the Q & ER window, your Moneydance error log and information about any errors being received when you try to do a quote update.

I appreciate your reply. I understand that it appears to you that this problem is specific to my system but what I don't understand is that I didn't change anything on my computer and what was working for years now isn't. I get an error "Unable to download rate from..." for every stock that I own.
Maybe other users have this problem even if it seems to work for you. It would be nice to hear from more users. If it's only me, then I don't have a solution. I would think that Yahoo Finance is the one at fault. But then it wouldn't work for you so I'm at a loss.

That error is not all that useful.
I suggested you upload a screenshot of the Q & ER screen and your Moneydance error log.
The screen shot will show the setup and also provide some securities for testing.

Thank you DWG and Stuart for your help. Thankfully I resolved my issue. It helped when I learned that it was just me having this problem. In my help/console info, it mentioned that I had illegal characters so I focused on that and found out that my securities' details had been changed. I don't know how that happened but found out by going to History on each security and clicking Edit at the top right. The ticker symbols had been removed and replaced by the name of the company. Other fields had been filled in the same way somehow. I have included 2 images as an example: the first one is what was wrong and the second, after I corrected it. Now it works perfectly, just as it used to. I thought this might be helpful for someone else in the future.
