Tracking Treasury Inflation Protected Securities (TIPS)
I'm looking into building a TIPS ladder and am curious if anyone has suggestion on how to track that particular investment using MoneyDance.

I'm a fellow user.
From what I can glean on these it should not be too hard. As always there will be multiple ways of managing them.
One way I could see is that say you invested $1,000, you could set the buy transaction to be 1000 units at $1 per unit. The value must be revised periodically given they are being adjusting for inflation so say at the end of the period they were worth $1,020 you could enter a new price of $1.02 per unit and also set this to the current price.
Thus their current value would show up as $1,020 in Moneydance.
So you are using the unit price to reflect the value change due to inflation.
Like I said this is one way they could be managed and it fits in with the way shares and funds work in the software.
