Quote Loader
I have been using Moneydance and Quote Loader for some years.
On 28th February 2024 one of my investment trusts ~ JPMorgan UK Smaller Cos Inv. Trust (JMI) merged with another in the group and the name was changed to JPMorgan UK Small Cap Growth & Income whilst the ticker changed from JMI to JUGI
Understandably Quote Loader no longer recognises prices for JMI after the above date, so I undertook the following changes: ~
1: ~ I edited the security name within the relevant account and the Summary sheet display
2: ~ Within Quote Loader I could see that the name change had been recognised, and I changed the ticker from JMI to JUGI. I clicked the “LSE” box and confirmed the source as “FT” like all my other securities
I confirmed the changes but Quote Loader will not provide a price for the security. I note that the “Select” column doesn’t provide a selection box alongside the JUGI security so that I am clearly doing something wrong!!
I suspect that the solution my be blindingly obvious but, if so, then advice would be appreciated.

I have just put JUGI into ft.com and got back the JPMorgan UK Smaller Cos Inv. Trust (JMI) page with a ticker of JMI:LSE. It may change to JUGI in the future. I suggest you use the Alt Ticker column, enter JMI:LSE and not have an exchange. Save the changes and run a manual Get Prices and see if you get a price. The Select box will not appear until there is a price.

Almost immediately after I had posted the above query, I suddenly remembered that, a few years ago, you had helped resolve a similar problem I had with another JP Morgan trust for which I couldn’t obtain a price
Your advice was to leave the exchange column blank and it worked!
I have tried this with JUGI and it now produces a price ---- albeit the final closing 28th February price for JMI. The select box alongside JUGI now has a box!
Might the answer be to leave things till next week when, hopefully, matters settle down?

Quote Loader just reads a web page to obtain prices. When things change
it is worth going straight to the source using a browser and finding
your security. The web page will give you the ticker to use. QL
constructs the ticker it sends from the Ticker and the Exchange (if
chosen). If you right click on the Exchange column for a line you will
see the ticker it has constructed. This needs to match what you see on
the web page.

On the other hand, - “JUGI” -- is quoted daily on the London Stock Exchange ------ and appears on many financial websites including Hargreaves Lansdown; AJ Bell; Interactive Investor etc.
Although I can continue to update the “JUGI” prices manually via the LSE website, I am wondering if there, perhaps, a way round this anomaly?

It does seem to be a FT issue not updating its data.
Set Source to Yahoo + TD and in the Alt Ticker box type JUGI.L and click SAVE changes.
Now GET PRICES the price returned should be current. see screen shot.
To switch back to FT simple change Source to FT.
