How can I delete unused securities?
In my Securities List (Tools > Securities), I have a number of securities with a $1 current value and no transactions or splits. When I try to delete some of them, I get an error message: Cannot remove currency that is being used.
What does this error mean and how do I fix it?
thanks.

Use toolbox extension.. The Currencies menu.. There is an option "Diag: can I delete a currency"

Thanks for your help. There was a currency that had issues, but that did not solve the issue.
For others that may run into this, I used the Toolbox extension to find out which account was keeping the security from being deleted. Even though there were 0 transactions, I was unable to delete the security. I had to go into the Account and use Remove Security. Not very intuitive, but it worked.

.. to add. Securities are Currencies under the covers. … and within Investment accounts, securities are stored as a sub account with a currency of the security. Hence you have to remove the relevant security sub account from all investment accounts, before you can remove the security master.
Yup. Not intuitive.
