I have an investment account with Money Market Fund (cash for settlement fund). When I imported the balance, it shows it is a security account. When I selected Edit Security button, in "security detail" window, I do not find CASH in the Type, except stock, mutual, Others, etc. Even if I choose "Other", I can only enter the transaction in "share" and "price" in Register and it does not show as cash

Can someone inform me how to convert Money Market Fund to show it as cash or bank account? Thanks

Foster

For the securities you cannot add another Top level type. however in the account if you set the Type to Other, you can add a subtype of Cash for the security.

I followed your advice. There is no change to show the nature of cash

The only place that actual cash appears as a balance is in the base investment account. With downloads like OFX data can only be loaded into the specific account type that the download indicates.

What most people seem to do with Money Market funds is to create a security for them and all purchase and sell transactions are executed with a buy/sell price of 1.00.
