Error in securities prices/Quote Loader

I have used Quote Loader successfully for years. However, over the last month, my Net Worth Graph and Securities Performance graph have an error. At some point in January, all of my securities, except 2, have very low prices which are inaccurate. This is causing my net worth to tumble and then rise. The actual dates on which there were trades have the correct price, so I'm thinking the historical grab by Quote Loader may be the problem. I have attached a screen shot of the Securities Performance graph so you can see what I'm talking about. There doesn't seem to be any way to fix this, as I can't see the non-trade date historical data in Securities History. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

    OK, I discovered that Quote Loader downloaded the correct price, but inserted the incorrect decimal point. I.e., if the actual price was 81.01, QL downloaded it as 8.101. I have manually fixed this in securities history, but I'd like to avoid this issue in the future. Any comments appreciated.

    Hi tahartman

    What is your Base Currency.

    What version of Moneydance e.g. 2024.3(5201).

    Is the Quote Loader build 321402?

    Can you open Quote Loader and click GET PRICES and take a screenshot of all the Quote Loader window to show the incorrect NEW PRICE decimal place. List the Tickers for the securities that have the wrong decimal place. After Selecting and saving lines click on one of the problem securities Ticker to open its Currency/Security History window to show were the decimal point goes wrong and post a screenshot of that.
    Close and reopen Moneydance. Click HELP – CONSOLE WINDOW. in Quote Loader GET PRICES and SAVE SELECTED LINES. In the Console Window click SAVE and post the Console file.

    Base currency = USD
    Moneydance = 2024.2
    QL = 321402

    I can’t take screen shots of the error - the error seems to occur when retrieving missing prices, so it doesn’t show up on the QL window. When QL runs, the prices I see on its window are correct. I only found the error by clicking on Securities History for each security. The prices on trading dates are all correct. The prices on non-trade dates (i.e., retrieved by QL) had the problem, and only on a couple of dates in December and January. I have fixed those now in the securities history by entering the correct prices. But it was obvious that QL retrieved prices on those 2 dates with the wrong decimal point. It correctly retrieved prices after those errors. So it seems to have been a glitch, and is now working properly.

    I was using a 2019 iMac (intel) when the error occurred.

    Hi tahartman

    I understand the reason for no screenshots.

    I understand the reason for no screen shots.

    The most likely reason is that there was an error in the source data from FT or Yahoo. If it happens again go to the FT or Yahoo price history web page and see if there is an issue with the data there. The main page web address can be found in my PDF. Quote Loader can only retrieve the data they published there.

    Have Fun Stay Safe.

    That makes sense, although weird. Thanks for your response. Needless to say, I love MD and Quote Loader.
