You don’t state which type of phone you are using Android of iPhone and what version of the APP it uses. You don’t state which sync method you are using Dropbox Folder which is the most flexible or Dropbox connection. You don’t give detail of what you are seeing and what you have tried. <p>Strange, Moneydance did not release a version 2016, and you do not state a build.<br>
Take another look under ABOUT MONEYDANCE. e.g. I am running 2017.7(1665).<br>

<p>The way syncing works change dramatically between 2015 and 2017 so I urge you to look under HELP – ABOUT MONEYDANCE and post e.g. I am running 2017.7(1665).<br>
I have a Android phone so not sure of the procedure on a iPhone. <p>You have the latest iPhone APP.<br>
2017.2 is an old build of 2017.<br>
The first thing to do is use FILE – EXPORT BACKUP<br>
Then update to the latest released build of 2017 from <a href="https://infinitekind.com/download-moneydance-personal-finance-software">https://infinitekind.com/download-moneydance-personal-finance-software</a>.<br>
Provided your purchased Moneydance direct and not from Apply I would suggest using Dropbox Folder rather than Dropbox Connection, its more flexible. You will need, if not already installed, at least the free version of Dropbox client.<br>
RESET SYNCING</p>
<ol>
<li>
<p>Use your iPhone setting menu to disconnect, if connected.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Set Moneydances “Sync Method” to “Don’t Sync” under FILE – SYNCING, then click OK.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Use FILE – EXPORT BACKUP to save a backup in case something goes wrong.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Then shut down Moneydance. If you are using Dropbox as the backup location wait till the Dropbox icon states “Up to Date”. This can take some time.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Using your computer, in the Dropbox folder delete the folder “.moneydancesync”. Watch the Dropbox icon and wait till it states “Up to Date”.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Open Moneydance on your computer under FILE - SYNCING, set your “Encryption Passphrase”, set “Sync Method” to “Dropbox Folder”, click OK.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Wait for Dropbox folder “.moneydancesync” and its contents to be created. Check the Dropbox icon states “Up to Date”.</p>
</li>
<li>

Wait for your data to be synced. Some people have reported that this first sync can take a long time, perhaps leave syncing overnight.<br>
