I got a new MacBook, installed Moneydance. Things are there, but the scheduled transactions didn't come over, which is a hassle, and it doesn't seem to be syncing with my iPhone app. The old computer is still syncing. How do I get the new computer to sync with stuff I enter in the iPhone app?

For support or other to help you will need to provide more information.
What version build of Moneydance e.g. 2019.2(1865) have you installed on your two computers.
What sync method are you using? .e.g. Dropbox Folder.
What is the operating system of you old computer?

First, that’s very cool that you give time as a user to help out other users!

    Old Computer
    Moneydance Version 2019.1
    MacOS Mojave Version 10.14.3
    Dropbox Connection Syncing

    New Computer
    Moneydance Version 2019.1
    MacOS Mojave Version 10.14.4
    Dropbox Connection Syncing

Assuming you old computer and iPhone are still syncing you add your new computer using MONEYDANCE - NEW - OPEN SYNED FILE. etc.

To ensure that auto commit reminders are being entered from old computer check box “Auto-commit Reminders (applies to current file on tis computer)” on old computer under MONEYDANCE - PREFERENCES - NETWORK. And / or on the new computer as well.

    Hope this helps

Nope, that didn’t help. I do have the auto commit reminders checked on both computers. The old computer and the phone are still syncing. On the new computer, I did the File-New-Open routine, authorized it with Dropbox, but the latest synced document option is dated Mar. 23, 2019.

Strange. Perhaps the simplest way forward would be to reset syncing.
On your old computer set Don’t Sync as the syncing method.
    On the phone app Disconnect.
Delete the “.moneydancesync” folder in your Dropbox account on line.
Restart syncing from the start. Old computer, phone, new computer.
Give time between each step for Dropbox to sync.

    Hope this helps

Derek, I appreciate your efforts on this.

So, I did as you suggested. The old computer came back with the correct info. The phone is now synced with the NEW computer, with missing data. Then I opened a new synced file on the new computer, and it’s now working with the old computer. Then I redid the phone. Now the old computer is syncing with a file called Finance, the phone and new computer with a file Finance4, but so far…. IT ALL SEEMS TO BE WORKING!!

Thanks so much for your help on this.

I am suprised all three device are not synced to the same file name.
But if you have tested adding transaction to all three devices and they appear on the other two, then if it works it works.

I agree, it makes me a little nervous, but it seems to be working. Now that I think about it, every time I created a new synced file it incremented the number. So probably if I found all the other files and deleted them before creating a new one, maybe it would work. But I don’t want to mess with anything now that it’s working.

    Thanks for all your help!
