I can't seem to connect to dropbox, it will not sync to my phone....so I decided to start over and deleted the file off of dropbox and deleted the app on my phone. I wanted to start fresh and see if I could get them to sync up....when I go to file-syncing on my desktop app nothing happens.

scottmathis2000tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/471833882019-04-17T07:36:55Z2019-04-17T07:36:55Zconnecting to dropbox

I am not support staff, just a user.

What version and build of Moneydance are you running. e.g. 2019.2(1867).
Are you only syncing between one computer and one phone?
What is your computers operating system, and what type of phone.
What syncing method have you used.
Without this information I can only pick one method and outline that.
Dropbox folder using 2017 or 2019.

Syncing one computer and a phone.
1. Open Moneydance on your computer under FILE - SYNCING, set your “Encryption Passphrase”, set “Sync Method” to “Dropbox Folder” and click OK.
2. Wait for Dropbox folder “.moneydancesync” and its contents to be created in your Dropbox folder. This can take some time. Watch the Dropbox icon and wait till it states “Up to Date”.
3. On your phone once the Moneydance app is installed, open the app. Ttap "Connect to Dropbox".
4. You'll be taken to Dropbox's website to give the Moneydance app permission to access your Dropbox.
If you're already connected to Dropbox on your device, this may be done automatically.
5. If you have more than one file enabled to sync via Dropbox, choose the file you'd like to sync.
6. Enter the Encryption Password (“Encryption Passphrase”) that you created earlier.
7. It can take a long time to for the first sync to complete, perhaps leave overnight if necessary.

Note Dropbox has imposed a limit as follows see https://help.dropbox.com/account/computer-limit
It seems that limit applies to the devices that can be connected to the Dropbox product itself, via official Dropbox applications, such as the official Dropbox desktop client or mobile applications.
So if your computer is using Dropbox Folder as you have to have Dropbox client installed this counts towards the limit. However, if you use Dropbox Connection and don’t have Dropbox client installed this does not count towards the limit. This limit does not apply to third party apps that connect to Dropbox via the Dropbox API such as the Moneydance Mobile app.

Hope this helps

derekkent23
