I want to sync my iPhone 11 moneydance data to the new one but cannot figure out how. nothing shows where to sync them up. My phone is synced to dropbox, I told the new monedance app on MacBook to sync on dropbox but that isn't working.

Ricktag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/481026582020-02-20T01:41:10Z2020-02-20T01:41:10Ztrying to move phone data to money dance on new MacBook and new moneydance app from old computer that crashed.

I'm a fellow user.

If you have been using Moneydance 2011 the name of file that you data was in would have been of the form yourfilename.md

When syncing with a mobile device under Moneydance 2011 only a subset of data is maintained in the syncing information and it is not possible to recover data from this.

If you are using Moneydance 2017 or newer it may be possible to recover your data from the syncing files.

What is not possible to do is to have data on a mobile device, restore desktop data from a backup and be able to link the two together. Creation of a syncing relationship creates a unique ID and it is not possible to set that unique ID when you recover from a backup.

Even when using Moneydance 2017 or later when you do use the recovery capability, you then have to go through a process to create a primary system and recreate all the syncing.

The bottom line is that if you had been using Moneydance 2011 you need to manually take note of new data from the mobile because there is no way of getting it to the desktop and when you go to recreate syncing with the mobile any data on the device will be destroyed,

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/481026582020-02-20T02:29:29Z2020-02-20T02:29:29Ztrying to move phone data to money dance on new MacBook and new moneydance app from old computer that crashed.

Hello,

I agree with the above assessment, that there is no way to retrieve your data off of your phone if you were using Moneydance 2011. Do you still have access to any of your data from the old computer? I'm not sure how exactly it has 'crashed,' but sometimes one can still get files off of a hard drive. If not, were you making any external backups of your Moneydance data file, along with the rest of your critical data?

For some reason my IMac started running very slow...... it cleared up a couple hours ago.
