To me your symptom sounds more like a problem with the actual syncing information, that is Moneydance has lost track of what is happening where it is up to.

Initially I would take a backup of the data and put it in a safe place.

If it was me I would then take it back to being a standalone Moneydance system i.e. set the primary system to Don't Sync. Delete all Moneydance data from the secondary and mobile systems and from Dropbox. Thus leaving just the primary system with the Moneydance data on it.

I would then proceed to do a fresh setup of the syncing system.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/486691212020-09-28T08:31:13Z2020-09-28T08:31:13ZUpgrade to MD2020 wiped out syncing ability with (and usability of) mobile MD apps

dwg

Your suspicion was spot on: once I deleted the MD app on my mobile devices I still noticed that the desktop MD program’s account balances were changing (almost “flickering”) ever so often — so there clearly was a linkage/ communication problem with DropBox in this instance. I did what you recommended — deleted the original file in (and any linkage to) Dropox, noted that the desktop MD accounts had finally “stabilized”; then I proceeded to set up the Sync process with DropBox once again. When that was working and stable, I then reinstalled (and synced) MD to my mobile apps. So far so good.

Thanks!

manggoy
