<p>Last time something similar happened and I lost months of data.</p>

<p>The version of Moneydance that you are running is slightly outdated and you could consider updating it. The latest free version for you would be <a href="https://infinitekind.com/download_2021">Moneydance 2021.1 (3069)</a>.</p>
<p>Alternatively, if you would prefer upgrading to Moneydance 2022, you can enter your current license key into the 'Upgrading?' box on <a href="https://infinitekind.com/purchase">this page</a> to redeem a 50% discount. After purchasing, you'll be sent a new license key via email.</p>
<p>On a different note:</p>
<ul>

<p>Did you have to restore from a backup for some reason? This would interrupt the sync relationship.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Is your data file stored in the <a href="https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/kb/file-locations-and-changes/default-file-location">default location</a>?</p>
</li>
</ul>
<p>Please note: if you are syncing your data with a mobile device, or another system - you should NOT move your data file to a shared folder location, like Dropbox. The file should remain on your local system if your data is being synced or shared, as outlined <a href="https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/kb/file-locations-and-changes/moving-files">here</a>.</p>

<p>When you navigate to <strong>File->Syncing</strong> which sync method do you have selected? Dropbox Folder or Dropbox Connection?</p>

<p>Finally, according to what you've said in your initial post <a href="https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/discussions/iphone-ipod-touch-ipad-android-app-questions/16013-pc-app-stopped-syncing">here</a> your most recent data is showing on your phone, is this correct?</p>

<p>If so, in order to sync to the same sync file as your mobile device, you should follow the steps below:</p>
<p>You will need to launch Moneydance on your computer and click on <strong>File -> New -> Open Synced File</strong>, there, select the same sync method as it was originally setup on your computer (Dropbox Connection or Dropbox Folder).<br>
We would recommend using Dropbox Folder especially because you are syncing with the mobile app.</p>
<p>You will see a list of data files with the name of your base account, select the same as the one on your mobile device and you will see a prompt for the passphrase (it should match the one you have created on your computer's previously), wait for the initial sync process to finalize and that will be it.</p>
<p>Please note: If you use Dropbox Folder as a sync method, you should ensure the Dropbox client is installed and running on your computer first.</p>
<p>If the problems persist, you may be required to perform an extra step and then repeat the instruction above.</p>
<ul>
<li>Navigate to <strong>Extensions->Manage Extensions</strong> and install the <strong>Toolbox</strong></li>
</ul>
<p>Launch Toolbox and from Toolbox Options (on top left corner) choose "Advanced Mode".</p>
<p>Click Advanced mode - red tab (on the right).</p>
<ul>
<li>Choose the option: <strong>Force a reset/Push of your dataset to Sync</strong>. Wait a few mins. This will reset and update sync with a new consolidated dataset.</li>
</ul>

<p>I bought the latest version and follow the steps but at the end I lost all the data I entered on the app since last November which is really annoying.</p>
<p>Now I want to start a new file so I can sync with the iPhone app but I can't get it working.</p>

<p>Additionally you could send us your Moneydance error logs. The logs should include information about what might be causing the problem.</p>
<p>They are saved on your computer as an errlog.txt file.</p>
<p>You can get to your error logs as follow:</p>
<p>1) navigate to <strong>Help->Console Window</strong> to show the console log in a window</p>
<p>or</p>
<p>2) in the Finder, press ⌘⇧G and then copy and paste <code>~/Library/Containers/com.infinitekind.MoneydanceOSX/Data/Library/Application Support</code> into the field and press enter/return.</p>
<p>At that point the finder will show an internal folder containing the errlog.txt file.</p>
<p>Finally you can paste the full content to your next reply.<br>
