How to setup family sharing?

Hello,
My wife and I are sharing iCloud+
I setup Moneydance using icloud, but my wife's iphone could not see the file.
I changed to dropbox and it works ok, but I would like to use the iCloud.
Am I missing some required steps?

   One of the requirements for iCloud is that you must be using the same Apple account.

   just a user - given that, you can't setup MD with icloud for sharing, as Apple doesn't really do sharing in the sense that one appleid has one set of information, and another appleid has a different set of information.

   For apple, sharing is about the application itself, not the data within it.

   Apple is all about "each person has their own set of data, but we do have family sharing so that family members can use the same application without paying again. (And even that isn't true in some cases - I have a tour guide app that doesn't allow family sharing even for the app)

   Ok, thanks.

   I was using another program called debit & credit that works with sharing in iCloud.
   Guess I have to use dropbox.

   So, reading your message again, yes you SHARE storage, but your data is segmented by the appleid - each has their OWN storage.
