Differentiate moneydancesync datasets
How to determine the 8-4-4-4-12 dataset name on iPad5 when there are multiple synced devices ?
I have four platforms all syncing nicely and four 8-4-4-4-12 files beneath dropbox/.moneydancesync/.
I would have expected one, but what do I know eh ?
The two windoz boxen (Desk=Primary, Laptop=Secondary do not use the DropBox App and show up only as browser connections so do not decrement DropBox's connected-device count (limited to 3 for free "Basic" account)
Another is a MacBookAir2020 running MoneydanceMac (Secondary). It is using the DropBoxApp and shows up as a connected device ('hostname'.local).
These three have toolbox extension so I can see which of the four datasets is bring used.
The fourth platform is an iPad5 (Secondary) using the DropBoxApp so shows up as connected-device "ipad".
Process of elimination is ok today but what of the day when the second ipad comes home and gets moneydance ?

Use toolbox to get the the sync uuid from the main screen. Then manually delete the other uuid folders in Dropbox that are not using this uuid. Then you will only have one and there will be no confusion.

I tried deleting all the datasets except the one on the PRIMARY host.
That didn't work out so well.
Syncing failed on the SECONDARY and I had to manually delete the local moneydance file then create new from sync (which unhelpfully shows two dropbox files labeled with date & time rather than filename and I am unable to cajole file modification/creation dates/times in dropbox web-interface). Regardless which I pick, a new 8-4-4-4-12 file is created in DropBox/.moneydancesync/
With experimentation, I found the older file was the one to pick.

yes. as what's happening is you are launching the old secondary, which is recreating the uuid sync folder BEFORE you get a chance to do file/new/open and open the sync folder you actually wanted...
