Thank you for your suggestions for Moneydance, we appreciate the
enthusiasm and excitement our users bring to the table! We are
currently maxed out with development of the main version of
Moneydance 2010, as well as our iPhone app, so it is unlikely we
would be able to add this new functionality in the near future.
That said, I will add it to our list of things to discuss during
our next company visioning discussion.

Our wiki is integrated with our feature request and bug reporting
system. Please feel free to register and use these systems to
help improve Moneydance by bringing bugs to our attention and
requesting new features. We now also have voting on all existing
tickets, which helps us determine which requests have the most
demand. It would be especially helpful to have a ticket with the
tools and upgrades specific to the U.K.

I also invite you to check out our <a href=

2010 beta.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and thank
you for your interest in Moneydance.

I use Moneydance in the UK but not for investment tracking more
basic banking. UK banks have never bought into the automated
download/initiate transactions from personal finance applications.
I think one bank used it but not sure if that is still the
case.

WIth Microsoft having failed to push the banks into using it is
unlikely smaller companies will be able to.

You may also be focussing on the wrong type of application as I
think Moneydance is more personal finance and national insurance
and VAT are more business taxes. There is a mac business finance
application but the name escapes me.

Ian

Iantag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/5884852009-11-15T10:06:12Z2009-11-15T10:06:14ZUK Market

Hi Ian,

I'm not too worried about the download features of Moneydance,
but I would like to see Moneydance fully adapted to the UK market
even without that feature. Everything is geared towards the
American market but our range of financial products is very
different.

I'm not looking for business accounting software as I used to
work as a Bookkeeper, so I know a little about business software
having used Sage, Viztopia and Merit, and that is definitely not
what I am after. I am looking for something that will blend with
the Self-Assessment Tax forms, and being able to analyse out Nat
Ins etc is a big part of that.

Anyway, my wish hasn't been granted but I still think its a
shame that there is yet to be a UK focussed personal finance
product for the Mac. I also don't think 'size' matters either! With
the internet and all its connectivity, small businesses can have
more influence than they might imagine...

Julia

PS One of the business accounting product for Mac is MYOB.

Juliatag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/5884852009-11-15T12:47:16Z2009-11-15T12:47:18ZUK Market

I use this for self assessment. Works OK, despite being PDF
based.

Not sure the UK market of mac users is big enough, especially if
Microsoft couldn't make Money work in the UK on the PC.

Ian

Iantag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/5884852009-11-15T13:19:18Z2009-11-15T13:19:19ZUK Market

Hi Ian,

Thanks for the PDF - I shall have a look at that.

As for whether the UK market is big enough or not, well surely
that depends on whether people think that they are going to be able
to access equivalent or improved software on a Mac?

Positive movement forwards is needed, not a continual retraction
to the trenches. There is a viable market here in the UK in fact,
according to the press, its increasing and with Moneydance being
recommended by Which? magazine it will only get better.

Just thought I'd voice my ideas in the hope that something
changes - you never know unless you ask!

Julia

Juliatag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/5884852009-11-18T20:50:18Z2009-11-18T20:50:22ZUK Market

One simple change that is surely not manpower intensive, but
would address some of the above needs is to make it possible for
the user to select the source of data from which to download mutual
fund data in the Stock Quote Synchroniser (e.g. www.yahoo.co.uk or www.morningstar.com). This simple
change would at least enable non-US users to track their
investments.

Martin.Htag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/5884852009-11-24T19:23:38Z2009-11-24T19:23:38ZUK Market

Thank you all for your interest and great suggestions for

I read a lot of postings that go back for almost a year that said is was coming soon.

bohicaranchtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/5884852009-12-13T19:33:49Z2009-12-13T19:33:49ZUK Market

Luc,

It is still in progress, and will not be released before the end
of 2009. We are currently quite swamped trying to keep up with
inquires about the new release of Moneydance 2010. In a few weeks
we'll post more information about the timeline for the iPhone app.
I'm sorry I don't have more details at the moment.
