com.infinitekind.moneydance.model error
I am trying to run the latest python_template.py Sample Python script in the Python Interface extension in Moneydance version 2014.5 but I get the attached error.
Is my Moneydance version too old for this to work, or am I doing something wrong?

Hi Peter,
Yes, it looks like that python script was made for Moneydance 2015 and higher which has a built-in script runner so the extension is no longer needed. I'd recommend upgrading to the current preview release (which will be released as stable any day now: https://infinitekind.com/preview ). The current stable release of v2017 has a bug in the python script runner which prevents some wildcard imports, but the preview fixes that.
Thanks!
Sean

Hi Sean,
If I install this, can I run it in parallel with my existing version with a copy of my existing data until I confirm I am happy with it?
Thanks,
Peter

Hi Peter,
The Moneydance 2015 and higher data file structure isn't compatible with the 2014 file, so you couldn't run both versions in parallel with the same files. You could export a copy of your 2014 data file and Moneydance 2017 would load it, but couldn't save it back to the 2014 format.
If you setup Moneydance 2017 on a different computer or user account that would keep them separate enough, but they still wouldn't be able to share data files.
Thanks,
Sean
