Extract Reminders to CSV: extract_reminders_to_csv.py

Hello, I needed to extract all reminders to a CSV file... I borrowed the adgetreminderstocsv.py script written by allangdavies and 'upgraded' it somewhat to comprehensively handle all the fields and reoccurrence dates... Feel free to use (let me know of any errors).

Having done it, I can understand why it's not an inbuilt feature... Perhaps the developers could take this and include it as standard?

Version 3 and final. Script now asks user for key parameters (and a bug fix)...

Version 4a of script. Now displays and allows edit (optional) of reminders, and then writes to CSV file.

    Hi Stuart,

Many thanks for the updated extract_reminders_to_csv v 4a.

The ability to show on screen & drill down to the reminders is a great addition.

However, I would just like to report one little quirk. The extracted csv file displays perfectly in Microsoft Excel, but in both Libre Office Calc & Mac OS Numbers, the first column is extraordinary wide. Not a major issue, but odd non the less.

How strange. Mine looks perfect. What does the raw data file look like? It should be a straight number followed by a comma.

I suspect it’s the footer row which says something like 'StuWareSoftSystems - extract_reminders_to_csv(4a) MoneyDance Python Script - Date of Extract: 08/11/2020’ messing it up? What happens if you delete this row?

Yes your suspicion about the footer is correct, but wonder why Excel ignores it.

Also for me Mac numbers ignores it too. I wonder if I should forgo the publicity?
