Report Writer "feature"?

I am having a bit of a problem with Report Writer. Using LINUX Manjaro with the KDE desktop environment. I am using Moneydance 2019.3. It is such a great extension!
When, in the extension page, I select, say filter, but it could be any line, the sub-window does not open in a normal size, but is minimized. When "click" to open its window, it only shows a sliver, and I have to expand it my selecting the corners.
When I do a selection by dates, say 01/01/23 to 03/31/23for Accounts, I get the current account balances for the current data, and not the account balance for 03/31/23, Am I doing something wrong, or misinterpreting the filter.

Sorry about the screen size, I will test on LINUX to see if I can reproduce.
On the filter side, you have to click the Filter By Dates check box and enter the from and to dates for it to be active and then select the other filters as required.

You might want to look at https://bitbucket.org/mikerb/moneydance-2019/wiki/Report%20Writer%2... which shows which filters act on which records. I don't know which records you are selecting so I can not determine whether or not there is an error.
You need to select transactions, budgets, prices etc to have the date filter work.
Date on an account record only checks that the start date of the account is before or in the date period.
On your filter you have checked 'Cleared' without checking the 'Filter by Transaction', this will have no effect.
