First, I'd like to clarify something you mentioned. Moneydance
does offer the ability to enter historical stock prices directly
from the within investment accounts. You can do so in the following
ways:

Manual entry- Open the Securities Detail view and click History.
(See attached Screenshot.) Click the "New" button to add a new
price entry, and repeat to enter as many entries as you like. If
you have many entries you may need to scroll down to see the "New"
line.

Importing transaction prices from your security's transaction
history- Open the Securities Detail view and click History. Click
the Import button. Select “Import from Transactions”
and click “Import”. The price history from your
security transactions will be integrated into your security’s
history.

Importing a file- Open the Securities Detail view and click
History. Click the Import button. Select “Import from
File” and click “Import”, then navigate to and
select . You can import Comma or Tab delimited files. I've attached
a csv file which I successfully imported via this method (to
demonstrate proper formatting).

Now on to the extension- I can definitely understand your
frustration, and I'm sorry the extension isn't behaving as
expected. The extension requires dates be entered in a very
specific format, which is the three letter month abbreviation, the
day, and the four digit year, for example "Nov 1, 2013". Trying to
enter a date in any other format causes the issue you (and Kevin C)
are seeing. I'm not sure how that thread flew under our radar, but
I'll re-open and post the solution there in a few minutes. I
appreciate you pointing this out, hopefully we can get the
extension working better for a bunch of people.

I hope this helps to smooth your investment price entry, and if
there's any way I can be of further assistance please do let me
know.

Thank you for your prompt response. I tried every way I
could think of to manually enter stock prices, except the correct
sequence. I was trying to edit a price entered incorrectly
and was unable to get it to accept the correction. Now it
is. Anyway thanks again, really appreciate companies that
care about their customers, so refreshing.
