I have two MoneyDance files, one for personal accounts and a second for a non-profit where I am the treasurer.
Each has their own PayPal accounts using different emails for the PayPal user logins.

Plaid/MoneyDance+ does not differentiate between the two PayPal accounts nor keep the Plaid account list separated between the two MD files. Each file shows all Plaid connected accounts.
To keep the connected accounts downloads separated, one must connect the correct account in each MD file and not connect any account related to the other MD file. If one accidentally connects an incorrect account, you can disconnect it and the downloads from that account into that MD file will stop. Of course, one might have many downloaded transactions to clean out.

However, for PayPal accounts, this doesn't work well. Both PayPal accounts show up in the MD+ account list in both files, but there is no distinction between each PP account names. See the attached screen shot. For other accounts from banks, etc. typically the account description says something about the account type (CD, Savings, etc.) and the last four of the account number. Evidently either PP doesn't provide that type of information to Plaid or Plaid is not showing it in the account list.

So, it's hit or miss to connect the correct account in each file. I guess a work around would be to create a dummy account and connect one of the MD+ PP accounts to the dummy. Then download transactions to that account and see if it is the correct account for that file. If is the correct account, click on the dummy account name and select the real PP account. If it is not, then connect the other MD+ PP account to the real PP account, disconnect the dummy account and delete it. In either case, leave the wrong MD+ PP account unconnected to a MD account. Do not disconnect the Plaid link or you might have to go through this sometime later and Plaid discovers it again.

Solutions:
1. The best would be to keep Plaid accounts separated for each file. That way, there is only one PP account to be connected in each file.
2. Have Plaid somehow show some differentiation between each PP account. As mentioned above, each PP account has different login credentials, i.e. email address. During the Plaid connect more accounts process, each credential had to be supplied for Plaid to access each PP account, so Plaid does know that these are different PP accounts.

Note, yes, this whole problem goes away with a second Plaid subscription, but as I mentioned, this is for a non-profit, so dollars count.

Aggregators often have little scope to display identifying account information, this can be by design to prevent identifying information like account numbers that could aid in fraud.

Once technique that is often used by institutions is to allow you to create alias for accounts which are presented to aggregators so they can present these to you to identify the account, without providing any identifying information.
