Unable to link accounts
Hi,
I have not been able to link to any bank accounts (Tower Federal Credit Union, AMEX, CapitolOne, etc.). I continue to get a popup error:
There was an error communicating with your financial institution. The details of this error are below.
The error code reported by the server was: 0
Could you please advise? Thanks
Rich Strama

Are you using OFX direct connect or Moneydance+?
Error 0 means you are not connecting to these financial institution's servers.
Also, what version and O/S are you currently using?

OFX direct connect
Windows 11
Only credit card accounts have successfully connected

Have these bank accounts ever connected for you via OFX?
For example, I know Amex savings account has never supported OFX, though credit cards do.
I don't know about TFCU or CapitolOne.

I just purchased Moneydance last month as a replacement for MINT. All the
accounts worked under MINT but I do not know the protocol
I am pretty sure that your website indicates that both banks are
linkable. Sorry, I do not have more insight
Please let me know if Moneydance+ will be my only option

I honestly don't know as there are so many banks.
I do know American Express Savings does not work with OFX
I do see TFCU in the OFX supported list, but of course my knowledge stops there.
I do not see Capital One in the list (only Capital One investing)
As for MD+, there is no established list - but you can get MD+ on a trial basis (14 days?) and look to see what is available.
Since I have MD+, I checked for you:
American Express is there (and I use it to download my savings account info)
TFCU and Capital One are both listed, but that's what a trial is for - to see if you can get it set up.
Hope that helps.
BTW - I always use OFX if it is avalable, it's a direct connect to the bank whereas MD+ takes a more roundabout approach and can have delays.

Do you not have any way to verify connections on your end without having
accounts?

I am not part of Moneydance/IK, I'm just a user trying to help out.
So, no *I* can't verify connections without having an account.

My apologies, I thought that you were part of the IK.
Is OFX becoming a deprecated standard?
How do issues get escalated to IK or how do I contact them?
If I cannot automate the connection of accounts, then I will need to pursue
a refund since I am still in the 90 day trial period.
Greatly appreciate your assistance,
Rich Strama

OFX is not deprecated, but it is being dropped by many banks in favor of paid aggregators (like Plaid and others) - which is why MD+ is available but has an extra subscription fee [mostly to pay Plaid]
You basically contact IK by posting here. They do have a presence here, but a few of what IK calls "experienced users" will often respond faster.
They will have to respond to some of your statements, I guess people like me are often the front line on subjects that "we" have some experience with.
Hope that helps.
