(Strongly) considering and about to purchase Moneydance after doing some research. But question regarding bill payment. I understand that is possible with bank with OCX (I think my Wells Fargo is?), but somewhere looking through your website I think it says that online payments cannot be made with Moneydance+(plus) (via Plaid). Does that mean if you subscribe to Moneydance+, that you can't pay bills online? And conversely if being able to do some online payments is desired (and it is for me), must one NOT subscribe to Moneydance+? A bit confused by that and the only thing holding me back from hitting PURCHASE so hoping for timely answer! And related question, can both Moneydance and Moneydance+ print checks (to be mailed to payee)? Thank you!!

First, you can try it out for yourself before paying. Simply download Moneydance, and it is fully functional with a 100 manual entry transaction limit - but that counter doesn't increment for imports or downloads, so it can go further than you think.

You can check to see if OFX downloads work for Wells Fargo, for example. As for Billpay, that tends to only work for OFX, or by visiting the bank website.

MD+/Plaid does not affect the above. It is a separate optional subscription to download information from (too many, honestly) banks that abandoned OFX, or never used OFX. MD+ is primarily US only. You cannot do online banking with any banks that are downloaded with MD+, but having MD+ will not prevent you from using online banking IF your bank uses OFX (and supports online banking through OFX).

MD+ downloads transactions, so has nothing to do with printing checks. MD can print checks (which includes all dowloads, including MD+)

Again, give it a try before you buy. Even when you do buy, I think there is a 90 day moneyback guarantee, but don't hold me (just a user) to that.

    I'm a fellow Moneydance user.

For online banking your Bank must provide that functionality via OFX i.e. Direct Connect and you would use Direct Connect for both online banking and bill paying for that bank. If you bank offers Direct Connect it makes sense to use it anyways, it is superior. If you have other institutions that do not support Direct Connect you can use Moneydance+ for them.

So you can mix Direct Connect and Moneydance+ just not for the same institution.

Moneydance+ is not a separate program, it is an add on service for Moneydance that you subscribe to. So typically you buy Moneydance then add on the service if you want to.
