Importing .QBO files into MoneyDance

Recently, one of my credit cards (Synchrony) has stopped providing .QFX formatted files when you select "Quicken" (one of four selections). Now, the selection of "Quicken" downloads a .QBO file and NOT a .QFX file. I changed the extention to ".QFX" on the downloaded files twice and MD accepted them, but I know that is just luck and not a long-term solution.
Do you guys have a recommended process we should use? I know (long-term) I will probably either have to pay to download transactions or stop using financial software but I am trying to hold out as long as I can. Thanks, Rob H

QBO is really OFX format with perhaps some extra bits added. So 🤞 they should continue to work.

I think Stuart may have misread there. QFX is OFX with added Quicken information, but Moneydance will deal with that with no problem

QBO is the import format for Quickbooks and Moneydance will not import that.

So what is the range of selections?

Quicken (was .QBX, now .QBO), QuickBooks (.QIF, not used), Microsoft Money (.CSV, thought this was obsoleted), CSV/Excel (last choice for me since I cannot use it for MD).

I question your comment "QBO is the import format for Quickbooks . . . " since the Synchrony Bank site uses .QIF.

All I know is if I change the extension it seems to work with no warnings or comments.

    Thanks ,

    RH

Ok dwg, without reading your link (probably a mistake but I had an "ah-ha" moment), I am thinking you are explaining that .OBO is the file "standard" and Quicken/Intuit/? slightly modified it to make .QFO for quickbooks. Same for quicken/moneydance (.QFX, not .OFX). Now some banks are reverting to the .Ozz which is independent of Quicken/Intuit/??
Bottom line, as long as moneydance can accept .QFX or .QBO I think I am OK. Or I am thinking I need to download the .QBO file and then change its extension to .QFX so MD will open it?
I just want a workaround that is reliable going forward (won't change on the next quicken program update).
