The proxy settings don't seem to work for OFX download
Hi Team
Thanks for you past support!
I am in Brazil, trying to access my bank in Texas. The bank, in an excess of security zeal, appears to check geoip coding and block connections from Brazil
I have an ssh host in the US, so for a web browser I just "ssh -D" and set a SOCKS proxy. Works fine.
But MD does not have an option for a socks proxy, just, apparently, and http proxy. So I built an 'ssh -L" tunnel to an http proxy running on the ssh host. It works fine for web browsing, but when I try to download transactions via MD, the logs show no connections happening, unlike the browser use of the proxy - the logs are flooded with all the connect messages.
Do you have any advice for the operation of the proxy in settings/network? Any plans to support SOCKS proxy?
Thanks in advance....

Hi Brett,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.
Do you have a VPN, for instance?
If so, if it has a proxy function then maybe disabling that would help, or possibly making an exception for the hostname ofxp.infinitekind.com
Please keep us posted on your progress, Thank you!

sorry, no VPN.
Just ssh tunnel (from laptop in Brazil) ---> to tinyproxy (linux server in
US). --> bank
Just a note that if the browser connects with an http proxy setting to the
ssh tunnel on the left side, it works fine
But replace the browser, connecting to the same local port, and there are
no connection logs appearing on the proxy server.
So the proxy setup does seem to work, but MD doesn't seem to be able use it
as I understood to configure it.
Here's the relevant section of the settings...

Can you tell me how to access a log of MDs attempt to use the proxy?

In order to use proxy settings, you should contact your network administrator, as outlined in this article of the Knowledge Base.
