I am just wondering if the people at Moneydance have communicated with Citi
and confirmed that is the problem or not?

    @Roy

We are sorry to hear about the problem you have encountered.

This issue is likely related to system changes being implemented by CitiCards.

We have already updated the connection information for Citi Cards, although this has not resolved the problem at this time.

For the time being, the best way to get your transactions into Moneydance is to use a web browser to download files from your bank's web site or switch to Moneydance +.

We'd recommend you download using the OFX or QFX file format if available. If not, use the QIF file format. (These files are sometimes referred to as Quicken or MS Money files). You can import the files to Moneydance using File --> Import.
The steps for manually importing your data are outlined in this article from the knowledge base.

Thank you for your patience and sorry for the inconvenience this might have caused.

I appreciate the tips but sine I check daily to catch any fraudulent issues.
I just view my account in one window and moneydance in another. Easy to
just read and enter them manually takes less time and not much more than
correcting and allocating the downloads gotten with. OFX.

It appears Citi has not had the courtesy to tell us, the customer, they are
discontinuing a service and forcing us to pay for our own information
gathered by a third party you have to pay.

Another big business taking advantage, Roy

    Just curious

If Citi bank will pass my information to a third party like Plaid if I give
    my permission

Why won't they pass it to me or Moneydance if I give them my permission.

Does plaid pay them for the ability to get my information?

    Very curious, Roy

    AI said:
Citi will not pass a single byte of your data to Plaid unless you explicitly
go into a third-party app, choose to link your Citi account, and pass
security verification. You are granting a "limited power of attorney" for
Plaid to fetch that specific data on your behalf.

It's about the new regime of 'who gets the money'.

Moneydance applied to be in the FDX consortium and to be an approved aggregator, but they were turned down, primary reason given was they didn't have a US presence.

So they had to deal with an approved aggregator, in this case Plaid, The fee you pay to Moneydance for MD+ primarily goes to Plaid,

In brief: A bank like Citi will only share your information with a third party such as Plaid when you explicitly authorise it, but that doesn’t mean they offer the same kind of direct access to individuals or to software like Moneydance.
Plaid has a formal, commercial integration with Citi that allows secure, token‑based data sharing, whereas the older open standards that Moneydance relies on are no longer supported by many large banks.
As a result, Plaid can retrieve your data on your behalf, but Citi won’t provide that same data stream directly to you or to Moneydance, even with your permission, unfortunately.

I am not blaming Moneydance.  Figured it was something like this but wanted to
make sure before complaining to Citi about things l. Better to have the facts.
    Thanks

I find the biggest "blame" to be made is NOT ONE of these major banks gave any warning that they were dropping direct connect (OFX) - until you discovered it yourself.

After about 2 hours, I just finished call's with Citibank. I called the
Costco VISA "supposedly" technical number I was given earlier. They had
never even heard of Quicken. They gave me another number to call for
technical support. I called the Master Card "supposedly" technical
number I was given earlier. They were also clueless. They gave me same
number to call for technical support. I called that number. They walked
me through the 3rd party app setup again. Then he fed me a line that I
don't really believe, but would like to. It sounded more like an
appeasement to get me off the phone than an official statement. Otherwise,
he would have said this to start with since all I asked for was a yes/no do
you still support downloads to programs like Quicken or Moneydance. But,
I don't think anyone I talked with today has a clue even what Quicken is.

"We are aware of the problem and are working on it. We have not shut down
the 3rd party app download capability."
