Although version 1.0.2 is a very old version of OFX, it supports a lot more than banks usually use, including pending transactions.
May I ask why the pending transactions are a problem? Does Moneydance not show them properly? When the pending transaction goes through, the bank should send an update with the new status of the transaction.

Thank you

If (as they always are) the transaction is the last one for that account in the file, it means that the corresponding last statement balance is £0.00 which means that automatic reconciliation is impossible.

I have been using OFX files for many years with Quicken (which my wife uses on Windows) and now Moneydance. They both worked perfectly until firstly last year (which they managed to sort out after lengthy negotiations!) and now recently which they (NatWest) don’t appear capable of dealing with. I have contacted the person who I was indirectly dealing with last year in RBS but I don’t know whether he will be able to help.

Thanks

I’m sorry to keep you waiting, but I’d like to run your query past the development team who may be able to provide further information.

Is it possible for you to provide the last part of the OFX file, including the last transaction? The ending balance should be separate from any individual transactions in the file.

Thank you

This starts just before the end of the previous file which I copied by hand.

It’s come up omn screen for me so I presume that’s OK - it’s a screen grab.

As you can see, the balances are £0.00

Hope this is OK for you.

As you can see there is no field.

This is not the last part of the OFX file as there is more than 1 account. I do not seem to be getting any problems with the credit card accounts - just the Current/Checking accounts. nIf necessary, I could obtain an OFX file for one account but I would have to find an account that has pending transactions - it doesn’t, of course, happen every day. This extract is from yesterday(?).

Best wishes

Unfortunately, the balance shown has nothing to do with pending transactions. It is simply the bank saying that there is a ".00" balance in the account, as of the end of the statement. There isn't really anything we can do about that, especially since the pending transactions are indistinguishable from regular transactions.

Please let me know if you have further questions or need any assistance.

I hope that you can see from this screen grab of NatWest’s online banking web page that the pending transactions are shown against a Nil balance which is not correct by over £2000.00.

This is what is preventing me from reconciling my accounts. Everything was OK until fairly recently when I believe they did an upgrade(!!!!!!) of the system/software.

What comes up when I press Cmd + B is this -

This does not agree with the screen grab as it is based on a download from this morning.

I hope that this clarifies my problem

Best wishes
