As soon as I got home, on the July 9, I manually entered the three checks into the register. The Forest Service didn't deposit the checks for a few days and all of the checks cleared the bank on July 26. When I downloaded transactions on July 27, NONE of the checks would match the already entered transactions. I tried changing the payee to match the downloaded transactions, NO MATCH. I entered the same check numbers on the downloaded transactions, NO MATCH. I finally tried changing the date of the downloaded transactions and finally when I was 5 days off of the date on the entered transactions they finally matched. This doesn't agree with the check book register but at least it is close.

Today I downloaded transactions and the previous merged transactions showed up and would NOT MATCH. I would assume since the previously downloaded transaction had a unique identifier that they would match on that but I guess I was wrong.

There should be a way to manually choose a previously entered transaction with a downloaded transaction to be merged in case the suggested transaction is not the correct one or there is no suggested transaction.

I'm not from IK Support, but you can modify the amount of days to match transactions under the File > Preferences > Network Tab. At the bottom "Only match transactions when they are at most x days apart" there is a dropdown to select either the default, or up to 90 days apart.

Insofar as the identifiers/markers from a previous download for merging, it depends on the type file that you download. When downloading, via direct connect, the ofx files have the identifier as do manually downloaded qfx files, some other file types do not.

I understand that you are asking for a way to manually merge a previously entered transaction, but I just wanted to provide you with a bit more information that you may be able to use to potentially help avoid the situation that you wrote about.

Regards,
