Hi all

See this Discussion partially post 52 at https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/discussions/problems/63978-money...

Hope this helps.

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/487922352020-11-02T23:54:13Z2020-11-02T23:54:13Znot downloading transactions

Thanks. So what do Schwab users suggest other than waiting?

Brian Baughtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/487922352020-11-03T00:32:45Z2020-11-03T00:32:45Znot downloading transactions

Well, as a Schwab user.

First, COMPLAIN.
Schwab instituted this change on Oct 16, with NO WARNING WHATSOEVER to their clients. I have been using this direct connect process (with Quicken and now Moneydance) for 10-20 YEARS. For Schwab to disconnect this with no contact to their clients is egregious.

Second, COMPLAIN.
Schwab's blithe comment is "we've been working on this since January. We've contacted aggregators, and folks like Quicken, Turbotax, HRBlock, Yodlee, and couple others have signed up." Your company, whatever the () it is, needs to sign up too.

Um, first, look at point one. THEY ARE NOT YOUR CLIENTS. YOU DID NOT CONTACT YOUR CLIENTS. If you had, hey, they might have helped you! And no, you did not contact everyone (like Moneydance, and many others). You only contacted those you wished to sign up. Another egregious error.

Third, COMPLAIN.
Even with no warning, to clients or many software products, Schwab is dragging their feet in approving anyone else. (Maybe they don't want to? Hypothetical, I do not know.)
Moneydance asked to be included in the developer program (which Schwab always says - hey they just need to sign up) on October 24, with a 2 day business response statement from Schwab. It is now 8 days later (ok, 6 business days)

Fourth, COMPLAIN.
Ask for an apology. I doubt it will be given. Schwab should send a letter of apology, especially for part one. Given the lack of warning, they should put everything back to the way it was on October 15, then issue a new, months away transition point.

Note also that the alternative is only a CSV download - which is inadequate. Schwab didn't even bother to provide a manual OFX or QIF download - so we as clients have NO adequate substitute. Demand they at least put that in place, as some products used by clients will never participate (abandoned ones like Microsoft Money).

And then, sigh.
You've expressed a gawp, Schwab says nice words, repeats that "your aggregator must sign up" (yes, aggregator is in the script) and they will pass your words on to the appropriate person.

You can guess how much result you'll get from all this.
Still, it has been cathartic for me, as I did all the above.

Then, (going to me), decide if this is enough to move away from a 27 year relationship. I will tell you, the decision isn't made, but it is darn close.

Then, think about if there is anything else you can do - OTHER than wait.
I've considered, and have a few thoughts, but they haven't fully gelled yet.

Hope that helps.

dtdtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/487922352020-11-03T00:36:20Z2020-11-03T00:36:20Znot downloading transactions

I need a Snickers.

dtd
