Downloading bank transactions
I am setting up trial version and thrilled until now.
When I uploaded bank transactions ( B of A) it loaded both my checking account AND VISA card into my check register.

It is likely that this is a mapping issue. Your accounts are not mapped properly (in other words, one account is pointing to each of your Moneydance accounts).
To fix this, disable the Online Set-up for the problem accounts. Then you will need to re-enable them. Once you have entered your ID and Password click Ok and wait (do not click next). You need to see a window that will display - "Please choose the account you wish to use" - which are your accounts listed in a drop down list. If you bypass this window - your Moneydance Account will map to the first account on this list. Sometimes you will need to just wait for this window to pop-up as it can take several seconds.

OK that seemed to work but now all the accounts are a mess. Is there a simp[le way to delete everything and start all over?

Sorry, one more question.
I keep two entirely different sets of books and records for myself and another person. How do I set up two entirely different databases?

The menu option File|New will create a completely new and independent set of books and records.
You switch between your books by using the menu item File|Open.

I can open the new set of books just fine but now can’t upload the Quicken Essentials database by using this method.

IAN- Thank you for your reply to Barry on 09 Apr. I was having the exact same issue with Wells Fargo checking & savings acts. Your solution was perfect. When I first set up the two accounts, I obviously did not wait to choose the account type to differentiate it from the top-listed checking act. I believe this will be a common frustration, but your answer provided the correct solution.

Barry,
In Moneydance, go the the Window->Welcome to Moneydance menu option. This will open the welcome screen. From there, you can import a new Quicken Essentials data file.
