From everything I’m seeing, this issue was 100% initiated by USAA, and it’s essentially up to them to take the first steps to fix it, INCLUDING communicating more widely with software vendors. It’s also useless (although it might make you feel good for a bit) to yell at, or be harsh with the “front-line” USAA folks OR Infinite Kind. They’re all more or less “innocent bystanders”, somewhat like us. What IS (at least IMHO) appropriate is to “express displeasure” to people at USAA who can make a difference (CEO, Board Members, executivecommunicatoons@usaa.com executivecommunicatoons@usaa.com and so on), which I have done. They are the ones that “set the tone” for the rest of the organization and enabled a culture that let something like this happen. While it does not excuse the lack of communications, there may have even been some mitigating circumstances, like a hack or some other compelling system issue that required immediate action

Hopefully, someone who “Gives a darn” will pay attention and things will get fixed.

In the meantime, I think emails to executivecommunications@usaa.com executivecommunications@usaa.com , Board Members and/or C-level executives will definitely help speed that process.

clayjtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/489989742021-01-31T23:41:56Z2021-01-31T23:43:26ZCan't download USAA transactions

@clayj - wow - same minute post on same topic...

I have a cousin (RADM USN, Ret) who was on the BoD for USAA several years ago. I’m waiting a few more days before I “pull that string”; but if the “radio silence” from USAA continues and/or the response is “less than satisfactory”, I definitely intend to do that.

The lack of communications is inexcusable.

clayjtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/489989742021-02-01T14:46:17Z2021-02-01T14:46:17ZCan't download USAA transactions

Yes, as Mark J (and others) have mentioned, the fact that the new
connection USAA has implemented that's labeled "... - New" isn't on IK's
list is what has us all in a lurch. In desperation, I bought Quicken this
weekend just in case IK never gets it fixed. I was successfully able to
download my USAA trans via Q and it, for sure, found the " - New"
connection. That said, I'd go back to MDance in a hearbeat if they can
create the new connection. I also find it garbage that USAA only gives its
members one way to download activity. I have a couple of other accounts
that give you a drop-down list of download choices from within their site
(vs being only able to fetch the info from the outside via Direct Connect)

It's default behaviour of the forum / support software I'd imagine to prevent bots from coming along and harvesting email addresses from what is a public discussion board.

Marktag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/489989742021-02-01T17:59:30Z2021-02-01T17:59:30ZCan't download USAA transactions

just type it like this:

In just a few days, there's been 22 separate discussions created for the exact same USAA problem. So that's at least 21 people who didn't bother to check to see if there was an existing discussion. And then there were the people who posted in the existing discussion that they had already tried re-connecting and upgrading, before looking for an existing discussion and realizing they did all that for nothing. Lessons learned?

ppinoccitag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/489989742021-02-01T21:36:24Z2021-02-01T21:57:09ZCan't download USAA transactions

By the way, USAA has a Facebook and Twitter account. One thing about those are that your posts are seen by other people, whereas email complaints just go into a black hole. Several years ago, when Hungry Jack did away with their short microwavable bottle for their syrup, and switched to a tall bottle like the other syrups that could not be microwaved, there were hundreds of posts on their Facebook page complaining. Almost a year to the day after they did that, the short microwavable bottle returned. Hmmmm, I just looked at the posts on USAAs Facebook page, people are not happy, recent article in the Washington Post, 20 of the 30 biggest corporate backers of the 147 GOP lawmakers who sought to overturn the election results have suspended some or all of the donations in response to the Capitol incident. One of the 10 that has not is USAA. So maybe they have bigger worries than us lowly Moneydance users.

ppinoccitag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/489989742021-02-01T21:41:37Z2021-02-01T21:41:37ZCan't download USAA transactions

Wow!!
Speaking as someone who was hit by the Schwab problem as well, were any lessons learned by MD to resolve this USAA problem (much) faster than the Schwab problem? It didn't seem that Schwab paid any attention to customer complaints, and it seems there is a similar reaction from USAA ("not our problem"), so is this on track to be resolved by MD? I just paid to upgrade MD to make Schwab work only to find that my bigger problems have just started with USAA.

Also, is Direct Connect going away as a supported bank interface, such that I need to worry about every account I use successively being broken with MD and facing multi-month wait-and-see periods before resolution, or is MD aware of this concern and being proactive about a solution that scales vs. reacting to each bank that does this as if it were a total surprise?

jerryw.millertag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/489989742021-02-01T23:53:12Z2021-02-01T23:53:47ZCan't download USAA transactions

Just found this thread.
