Usually the error you are seeing should disappear at restart.
If this is not the case, you could try upgrading to the latest stable version and recreating the connection, as this should hopefully fix the problem for you.
Moneydance 2022.6 (4097) is now available to download from this page.
You should remove the older version and restart Moneydance!
Finally, navigate to Online->Set up Moneydance+ and where it reads "Connected" on the right, click and select disconnect in the popup. Then try to recreate the connection as outlined in this article of the Knowledge Base called Connect Accounts with Moneydance+.

I am a new customer and just downloaded the program last week. It is the
newest version.
I also removed reinstalled: it did not help.
Support is taking a very long time to respond and it seems my trial will
run out before we get this resolved. If this is the case please cancel and
refund my purchase/terminate my license

just a user - a new version of MD was released on January 28. I note your inquiry was made on January 27. So you may not have the current release, or maybe you do.
The Jan 28 release fixes some issues with MD+ , whether or not your issue is part of it, I do not know.

it is connecting to my banks now without the error but the transactions are
not syncing
I would like to avail the 30 day refund policy @moneydance and will
reconsider next year when kinks are sorted out

I would suggest creating a specific refund thread as MD often allows users to work with people.
As to your immediate refund request, if downloads are now working, I wonder why you don't want help on making sync work. Given the change in the download status - it's probably that the bank itself was down when you tried, versus a MD problem. There will always be kinks... but if you prefer a refund to getting help, that's your decision.
