download to split
I just tried for the first time to download and import a QIF file from my credit card provider. The import spread the transactions throughout my register. But I write one check for the lot, so I would like the import to go into one transaction with split entries. Is there a way to do this?

All of the transactions on your credit card have no relationship to other transactions, thus the card provider treats them as individual transactions posted on the day they receive the charge. So no great surprise they download the way they do.
From the point of view of a QIF file the record for a split transaction is very specific and there is no simple way to go from individual transactions to a split transaction.
FWIW A Salary Split looks like:
^ D16/07/1999
U3600.52
T3600.52
NDEP
PXYZ Corp
LSalary:Salary & wages
SSalary:Salary & wages
$5639.42 STax:Salary & wages
$-1968.40 SInsurance:Health
$-70.50 ^ You can see it looks like a single transaction but has embedded splits, also there is a single date.
Showing the purchases as individual transactions and the repayment as one is what you would expect to see on your credit card statement as well.

Hi David
You should create an account of type credit card in Moneydance and then import your credit card QIF file into that account. Then when you pay your credit card you should enter a transfer from your checking account to your credit card.
