The more I work with MoneyDance, the more I like it. Like any
software, there are possible enhancements, but I find the program
very intuitive. I love getting back to true double-entry. My
records were in pretty good shape before importing them, but I've
been able to identify some transactions from the old program that
needed to be "cleaned up"...particularly some entries where I had
to "fudge" the date one day either direction in order to prevent
the previous program from creating extra, unneeded entries.

Importing data into MoneyDance makes the third time, and it was
the least eventful. With the MoneyDance transition, I had no
records I had to totally rekey in. I just had some edits. I can't
say the same for moves to the programs before MoneyDance. The
import didn't work at all with transition to the last program so I
ended up rekeying years of data and lost some pricing history with
my investments along with it.

I find the software response in MoneyDance is a lot faster than
with the other programs. One thing I really like is MoneyDance's
cross-platform capabilities. I moved to MoneyDance because of that.
MoneyDance was the solution to the last issue I had with the move
to a new operating system for two of my computers.

Lynntag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/255317992013-03-09T19:49:47Z2013-03-09T19:49:47ZHave you deleted Quicken?

I'm also a recovering Quicken user.

Welcome to the club.

hlslaughtertag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/255317992013-03-10T05:29:49Z2013-03-10T05:29:49ZHave you deleted Quicken?

I didn't have to delete my Quicken. After years of using PCs and
Quicken I switched to a mac in January. Since Intuit has abandoned
the apple ios, I tried a couple of other things and then settled on
MD. Didn't take me long to import my data and (thanks to the great
support here!) work out a few conversion kinks.

Still learning some of the ropes, but happily plunked down my
$49!

johnnay1
