Backup files

I just purchased the latest version of Moneydance hoping it would correct something major misstep I made this morning when trying to restore from a backup file. I don't know what happened, but what resulted was a register with 18 months' worth of transactions missing, replaced by old recurring transactions. Is there any way you can review my backup files and see if it's possible to find anything from 2024?
